Lumi Gaming Headset
Lumi is a conceptual brand and packaging design for a women’s gaming headset, created as part of an academic design project. The goal was to challenge the harsh, hyper-masculine visual language common in gaming hardware by creating a brand that feels soft, playful, and tech-forward.
The design goal was to create a brand that feels welcoming and expressive, while still clearly belonging in the gaming space. Lumi needed to feel playful and modern—not childish or overly gendered.

CONCEPT
Many gaming accessories marketed toward women rely on stereotypical aesthetics or simply recolor existing products. I wanted to explore what a headset brand could look like if it prioritized softness, approachability, and play—without losing its connection to tech culture.

VISUAL DIRECTION
The design goal was to create a brand that feels welcoming and expressive, while still clearly belonging in the gaming space. Lumi needed to feel playful and modern—not childish or overly gendered.
COLOR & MATERIAL
A pastel color palette was chosen to soften the visual presence of the product and create emotional warmth. The colors contrast with the typically dark, high-contrast palettes used in gaming, signaling a different kind of experience—one that feels personal and inviting.
TYPOGRAPHY
A pixelated typeface was used to reference classic gaming visuals while keeping the tone light and playful. This choice bridges nostalgia and technology, reinforcing Lumi’s identity as both fun and digital.
PACKAGING DESIGN
The packaging was designed to feel approachable at first glance, prioritizing clarity and visual softness. The pastel palette and pixel typography create a sense of delight while still communicating that the product is a serious piece of gaming hardware.
