NOMA

NOMA is a conceptual brand identity and e-commerce layout for a Japanese minimalist furniture studio. Grounded in simplicity, natural materials, and quiet forms, the project highlights digital layout hierarchy, tactile typography, and editorial product storytelling.

CONCEPT

Subversion is built on the idea that identity is often curated on the surface while complexity exists beneath. Rather than relying on overt rebellion, the brand communicates through restraint—allowing contrast to reveal itself only when engaged with.

The packaging functions as both object and metaphor: a controlled exterior that gives way to intensity within.

VISUAL DIRECTION

The design system translates Japanese interior architecture into a digital interface: unhurried, spacious, and deeply tactile.

COLOR & MATERIAL

Warm solid oak, natural paper cord, stone grey, and off-white ground the palette in organic materials.

TYPOGRAPHY

Minimal headings combined with functional sans-serif details balance traditional craftsmanship with modern utility.

LAYOUT STRUCTURE

Expansive negative space and generous grid margins mirror traditional Japanese spatial proportion.
